Privacy Policy
In short: this is a personal website. It does not ask you to register or hand over personal information. The only data processed is what your browser sends automatically (such as your IP address) plus the cookies used by standard analytics and advertising services described below. You can refuse those cookies at any time.
1. Who is responsible
This website is owned and operated by Plamen Ignatov, an individual software developer based in Sofia, Bulgaria ("I", "me"). For any privacy question, write to support@ignatov.eu.
2. What this policy covers
This policy covers the home page, the blog, and the static pages hosted under the ignatov.eu domain. My mobile apps and browser games each have their own privacy policy, linked from their store listing and from the apps section of the home page:
3. Information collected automatically
Like every website, the web server records technical information about each request: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page, and your browser's user-agent string. These server logs are used only to keep the site running, to diagnose errors and to detect abuse. They are kept by the hosting provider for a limited period and are not combined with any other data to identify you.
4. Information you provide
The site has no registration, newsletter or contact form. If you leave a comment on the blog, the name, e-mail address and text you enter are stored with the comment so it can be displayed and moderated. Your e-mail address is never published. If you e-mail me directly, I use your message only to reply to you.
5. Cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. This site uses:
- Functional cookies set by the blog software (WordPress) to remember comment form details or a dismissed notice. They do not track you across other sites.
- Analytics cookies, when enabled, from Google Analytics, to understand which pages are read and how visitors arrive. IP addresses are anonymised where the service supports it.
- Advertising cookies from Google AdSense and its partners, as described in the next section.
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking them will not stop the site from working.
6. Advertising (Google AdSense)
Parts of this site may display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners use cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites, and to measure ad performance.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a range of third-party vendors' cookies at www.aboutads.info.
For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, a consent message is shown before any personalised advertising cookie is set, and you can change your choice at any time. Details of how Google uses data from sites that use its services are available at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
7. Embedded content and external links
Blog posts may embed content from other services (for example YouTube videos, GitHub gists or maps). Those services may set their own cookies and collect data as if you had visited them directly. Links to Google Play, GitHub, LinkedIn and other external websites lead to sites with their own privacy policies, which I do not control.
8. Legal basis and your rights (GDPR)
Technical data in server logs is processed on the basis of my legitimate interest in running a secure website. Analytics and advertising cookies are set only with your consent. Comment data is processed on the basis of your request to publish the comment. Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to access, correct or erase personal data I hold about you, to object to or restrict its processing, and to lodge a complaint with the Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection. To exercise these rights, e-mail support@ignatov.eu.
9. Children
The site is not directed at children under 16 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
10. Changes to this policy
If the way the site handles data changes, this page will be updated and the "last updated" date above will change. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
